The Azienda Agricola Cenedese has its foundation on the desire to revive olive and grape cultivation in a particularly suitable area, embracing an environmentally conscious agriculture to produce limited, niche products. These products meet the needs of those who seek original aromas and flavours, genuinely dissimilar to industrial products.
The Colle della Tombola Hill, steeped in history and centuries-old agricultural traditions, is the ideal place to pursue a passion for the land and to create premium products. To this aim, the cultivation philosophy applied to this land follows the natural cycle of the seasons, avoids artificial interventions and invasive treatments, and ensures that olives are cold-pressed the same day that these are hand-harvested. Its agriculture prioritizes the biological biodiversity of crops, and considers the environmental sustainability as its guiding principle.
The association of the extra virgin olive oil with its production area was natural to Loris Cenedese’s agricultural company, situated on the upper slopes of Colle della Tombola Hill, 255 meters above sea level, in Colfosco di Susegana. In the early 1960s, a family of Murano glassmakers built their country residence there, cleared the land, planted grapevines and olive trees, and established the Azienda Agricola Cascina Sant’Antonio.
On the south-facing slopes, olive trees produce a high-quality first-press oil – a harmonious combination of the local biodiversity with the ideal microclimate of the hill, and the dedication of the Cenedese family to cultivation. The final product is a blend of light- to medium-intensity taste, the result of the combination of various cultivars that define the Colle della Tombola olive oil for its delicate aromas, which reflect the peculiarity of this environment.
On the same slopes, touched by the breezes rising from the River Piave, Prosecco Superiore DOCG grapevines grow in symbiosis with an environment of woods and meadows, where the Azienda Agricola Cenedese also has its beehives.
Since March 16, 2021, Susegana has been a Città dell’Olio [City of Oil]. On that date, the Municipal Council approved its membership to the Città dell’Olio National Association, implementing actions to promote extra virgin olive oil within a broader strategy for the economic and tourism development in Susegana. The municipal territory of Susegana, home to numerous olive growers, sees extra virgin olive oil as a key driver for promoting slow tourism and its culinary and wine itineraries within an area that overlooks the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2019.
